Do this to avoid hackers on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in the world. WhatsApp has more than two billion users worldwide for personal and business purposes, adding features that are suitable for users from time to time.
As much as this app has made our daily life easier, it has also caused as much risk. Today we are telling you some important ways to use WhatsApp safely and avoid hackers.
1) Turn on Two-Step Verification
To stay safe on the Internet, you should turn on two-step verification on all of your social media accounts. If two-step verification is turned on, another person cannot login to your account on their device even after receiving your ID and password.
A special code is required to login, which is sent to your phone via SMS. When the WhatsApp account is accessible to others, that person can read secret messages or ask for money from people close to them.
So two-step verification should be turned on. To turn on two-step verification on WhatsApp, follow the steps below.
First open WhatsApp. Then tap on the three dots on the top right.
Now go to the last setting option. First go to account options.
And tap on two-step verification.
After doing this, tap on the enable option at the end. Then put 6 such numbers there, which no one else knows except you.
Tap Next at the bottom and enter the same number again.
Your next page will ask for your email. Put your email there.
Now enter the email address and confirm the email again.
Then go to the Save option and tap on the Done option that comes down. This way you can turn on two-step verification for your WhatsApp account.
2) Turn on Security Notifications
By keeping security notifications on in WhatsApp, you can stay safe to some extent. If your account is hacked, all the users in your contact list will be notified that your account has been hacked.
In that case, other users can avoid being cheated. Follow the below procedure to turn on security notifications.
First of all, open WhatsApp and tap on the three dots on the top right and select the Settings option.
And go to Account and go to Security.
Now turn on the option that is there called Show security notifications on this device.
3) Hide WhatsApp profile photo
We should not keep profile on WhatsApp as we keep profile on other social network accounts. It can be especially dangerous for women.
Any person can follow you on different social media accounts based on the number. Or let's say that in some cases such photos can be misused. So you have to hide the photo. Follow the below steps to hide photos.
First open WhatsApp. Go to Settings by tapping on the three dots on the top right.
Then go to privacy and go to profile photo.
After doing this, put it in 'My Contact' or 'Nobody'.
