When we do some search on Google, the notifications related to it also start coming. Actually, this happens because of the digital footprint. Sometimes, knowingly or unknowingly, very private and confidential information also gets saved in the search results. This could lead to identity theft, financial fraud or any other type of digital risk. There is also docking in this, that is, personal information starts being shared with other sources in an unwanted manner. To address such complaints, Google is now launching a new tool. Under this, users will be able to request the removal of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) i.e. sensitive personal information.

A new privacy based tool has been developed by Google. Recently, Google announced the 'Results About You' tool. At present, this system has been started for Android users in Europe and America. In the coming days, this facility will be available for all users.
How does the tool work?
Soon the user will see a new option 'Result about you' in the Google search menu. On clicking this, the user will be redirected to a new page, in which information related to removal of personal information from Google search results will be available. In this, information related to removal of phone number, home address, e-mail id or other PII will be found. The user will have to fill the request form here, in which the information related to removal of PII will have to be given.

If you see any personal information in Google search results, then you can take the help of Google support page to remove it. Here also the user will have to fill a form, as well as mention the URL in it, which you want to remove from Google search results. After filling the form, it starts deleting the relevant content.

You can also monitor the request for removal of PII from the search result. The user will see 'In Progress' and 'Approved' filters in the 'All Requests' feed of a new page. Here users can also enter new requests. In this, Google is asked about removing the search result. For this, some reasons are also given by Google. According to Google's blog post, after receiving the request, it is examined and then the work of removing the content starts.
