For this, the customer should type his citizenship number, email address and send an SMS to 17125. Before taking the e-SIM, the customer receives a call from the Ncell representative for customer identification. There will be no charge for sending this SMS and upgrading the SIM.

Customers can also upgrade their SIM to e-SIM from their nearest Ncell center. The customer should dial *#06# to find out if his mobile e-SIM is active. If the details with Embedded Identity Document (EID) appear on the customer's display, then the e-SIM is active in such mobile.

Until now, only the companies of various brands mentioned above have been providing e-SIM supported services after getting e-SIM approval. But these phones do not support E-SIM in all countries.

Due to the geography and internal policies of that country, devices that support e-SIM may not work. So far, only the phones of the brand that have been informed that e-SIM support is included in this list.

Regarding other phones, information may be available if announced by the company.

What is e-SIM?

E-SIM is a kind of virtual i.e. electronic SIM. After the e-SIM is available, there is no need for a physical SIM card as it is now. For this, a handset that supports e-SIM is required.

It can be used to make phone calls and use data. There is no need to change SIM card after using e-SIM.

Apart from mobile sets, e-SIM can be used in other devices and smart watches and various types of devices that can be worn on the body.

Here are 7 things you should know about e-SIM

Government-owned telecommunication company Nepal Telecom and private Ncell Aziata are distributing e-SIM to their customers.

Nepal Telecom's e-SIM can be purchased through Nepal Telecom's counters across the country. Similarly, for Ncell, you have to type your citizenship number, email address and send an SMS to 17125. Click here to know the process of getting Ncell e-SIM.

Recently, with the increasing discussion of e-SIM, it has been found that it has created a lot of confusion among the general public.

What is e-SIM, how does it work? Here we are providing answers to various questions such as which device supports e-SIM.

However, it has been found that people still have many ambivalences regarding E-SIM. In every e-SIM news, we are reading the news that the mobile service provider is distributing the e-SIM on the one hand and on the other hand we are understanding that the e-SIM is the SIM that comes already connected to the device.

In fact, e-SIM means embedded SIM is an e-SIM chip installed by the manufacturer when the phone is manufactured.

It is same for all countries of the world. However, since the mobile service provider is different in every country, the user must install and activate the "e-SIM profile" of the new service provider. You have to activate the e-SIM in your device by using the QR code or SMDP address (SM-DP+Address) and activation code provided by Telecom and Ncell.

E-SIM distributed by Telecom and Ncell means that they provide QR code activation code. Here we have tried to clarify the various confusions people have

Can physical SIM be used after using e-SIM or not?

As soon as the e-SIM is activated by the mobile service provider, the physical SIM is deactivated. This means that the physical SIM is then deactivated. Using it on another phone does not support it. Therefore, a number either has a physical SIM or an e-SIM. It is impossible to have physical SIM and e-SIM of the same number

What is the quality of data and voice in Esim?

Those who want to use e-SIM may be confused about its quality. Ranjit Lohia, co-spokesperson of Nepal Telecom, has informed that there will be no difference between the quality of e-SIM and the quality of physical SIM.

According to him, the quality of internet and voice quality that users get when using a physical SIM is available in the e-SIM. This means that users can use it confidently without worrying about the quality of the Internet and voice.

How many e-SIM can be used in one mobile phone?

Each mobile manufacturer company has prepared a separate arrangement for e-SIM. If your phone supports e-SIM, you can create several e-SIM profiles according to the device. For example, we can login as many accounts as we want on Facebook.

However, only one account can be used at a time. If we need to use another account immediately, we can log out of that account and login to another account. In the same way, you can choose the profile of the e-SIM you want and use it. However, how many e-SIMs can be activated at one time may vary according to each device.

So far, it is said that three e-SIMs can be used on an average in one device. Similarly, only one e-SIM can be used in the phone at a time.

If there is a problem with the e-SIM, can the physical SIM be used or not?

In some cases, there may be a problem with the e-SIM we are using or our device that supports e-SIM may be damaged. In that case, we can convert the e-SIM back into a physical SIM. The physical SIM can be converted into an e-SIM later. Therefore, if the e-SIM is damaged, the physical SIM can be safely used, according to Lohia, co-spokesperson of Telecom.

Can e-SIM be used using two physical SIMs or not?

If your device supports e-SIM, you can use as many physical SIMs as you need. However, physical SIM and e-SIM of the same number cannot be used in that phone. Apart from that, as many e-SIMs and physical SIMs can be used in the phone.

Is it possible to get two e-SIMs in one mobile or not?

It is said that at least three e-SIM profiles can be created in phones that support e-SIM. This means you can create up to three e-SIM profiles in one mobile. However, only one e-SIM is active at a time

Can Ncell's e-SIM and Namaste's physical SIM be used?

E-SIM is a chip that is attached to the phone when it is manufactured. And a physical SIM is a SIM that you can put in by removing the SIM-tray. Physical SIM or e-SIM of any number. If your phone takes only one physical SIM and the phone supports e-SIM, you can use both SIMs. The number of e-SIM devices supported varies from phone to phone.

If you want to use Ncell's e-SIM and Nepal Telecom's physical SIM on the same phone, you can. Similarly, if you want to use Nepal Telecom SIM as e-SIM and Ncell SIM as physical, you can do it. SIM of same number cannot be used as e-SIM and physical SIM.
