Some people take body shaming for granted. They accept their natural body, color or texture. They are not affected by critical comments. But in some cases, due to comments made by others, people start to feel dissatisfied with their body. Bista says that it can cause many mental problems as well as lack of confidence in people.


Being a victim of constant body shaming, inferiority complex lives in people's minds. "Such people may suffer from depression, anxiety, stress and depression," she says.



Every person's body structure, face structure and color are different. Therefore, if any woman or man is teased in the society or at the workplace because of their body shape, color or external parts of the body, it directly affects the mental health of the person, says Bista.


The concerned person also starts to withdraw from the society. "Continuous negative comments can make a person anxious to the point that they prefer to be alone and not join social activities," she says.


The emotional impact of body shaming begins to affect the body as well. Bishta says, "If a person is trolled for obesity, then he starts giving up food to lose weight. As a result, his body starts to weaken.


Social impact of body shaming

Bista says that it is very good to keep yourself healthy but it is not good to change your natural color and texture because of what others say.


How to discourage such a trend?


First of all, parents should teach their children at home not to make fun of someone's physical deficiency or difference. Bista says that the present youth generation is also aware that every person should accept their natural makeup.


Instead of worrying about your body shape, color or texture, learn to accept it. Bista says that if you accept this, you will not be affected by anyone's critical comments. "Because of that, people who make negative comments are discouraged, they feel that I have done something wrong," she says.
