What is found in meat?


Vitamin B12 is found in meat. Which is not found in plant foods. Even if it is found in some places, it is very low. Apart from this, nutrients such as iron, saturated fat, vitamins B, A, K, minerals, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium are also found. Which is essential for health. Protein helps the body's energy, flexibility, fitness and activates the body's blood cells.


There is a history of people eating meat in primitive times. But by the time of agriculture until today, people have already built up a large stock of food. Now there are sufficient sources of food including fruits, vegetables and grains.


This is also the reason why people are reducing the amount of meat. Some have given up meat suddenly and some have not eaten meat since birth. Many have given up meat due to illness or health awareness.


What happens if you don't eat meat?


Not eating meat does not do anything bad to the body. People who eat only vegetarian food may be deficient in vitamin B12. Similarly, a vegan diet that does not eat fish, meat, eggs and milk, and curd, may cause deficiency of vitamin B12 and iron in such people. But even if you are a vegetarian, if you regularly eat milk, curd, nuts, pulses and rice, there is no shortage of protein in the body. But there may be deficiency of vitamin B12. Besides, there are benefits of not eating meat. For example, the risk of diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, bad cholesterol, constipation, obesity and cancer is reduced.


What can be eaten instead of meat?


Although meat is the main source of protein, you can supply the body with these vegetarian foods instead.


Paneer, tofu and milk dishes: Dairy products like paneer, curd, cheese are rich in protein. Besides, vitamin B12, iron, minerals are found. Those who don't eat meat can eat these things. Another tofu that is similar to paneer. It is made from soybeans. It is also called soy paneer. Some people can eat tofu instead of paneer.


Legumes: Sprouted pulses such as split wheat, chickpeas, mung beans, pulses are rich in protein. Since it is low in calories, it can be mixed with salad and eaten. Apart from this, pulses can be boiled or cooked (fry, make jhol) and eaten with daily meals. Among them are rajma, banana, chickpea and mung dal.


Soybeans: White or black soybeans can also be eaten. It can be eaten fried or when it is green.


Green peas: Green peas are considered as protein for people who don't eat meat because they contain a lot of protein. It is found in winter season. Apart from protein, it also contains amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins A and C, calcium and phosphorus. Mushroom: Protein is found in mushroom. It is also a vegetable that helps in supplementing protein in the body for not eating meat. Peanuts: Peanuts are high in protein. Soaking it overnight in clean water is beneficial for health.


Satu: Satu, which is fried from chickpeas, banana, barley and corn, also contains protein. It contains carbohydrates, fiber, micronutrients, iron, magnesium and sodium. It can be dissolved in milk or hot water or fried in ghee. Usually, this child is fed satu.
