What causes

How do you know?


Common symptoms of tuberculosis include fever for more than 2 weeks, which usually starts in the evening. Reluctance to eat, weight loss, feeling weak and night sweats are common symptoms.


- Tuberculosis of the lungs can cause prolonged coughing, blood in the phlegm, difficulty in breathing and pain in the lungs.


- If it is tuberculosis of the throat, there are symptoms like swelling of the glands of the throat.


- Tuberculosis of bone joints usually affects the spine, which causes spine pain and bone weakness.


- In case of stomach tuberculosis, stomach pain, bloating, water retention in the stomach, heaviness in the stomach and diarrhea will occur.


- In case of cerebral tuberculosis, symptoms such as headache, dizziness, fainting, vomiting, paralysis, and loss of physical balance are seen. Its symptoms are similar to measles.


- If it is tuberculosis of the skin, spots appear on the skin and if the spots do not heal even after treatment, it can be a symptom of tuberculosis.


- If there is a problem of red eyes, it can be eye tuberculosis. Various symptoms appear in the organ that has the problem. Also, its symptoms are similar to other diseases.


What is the treatment?


Although there are different types of tuberculosis, the treatment is done with the same type of medicine. However, depending on how complicated the disease is, the time to take the medicine varies.


Normal type of tuberculosis can be cured by taking regular medicine for 6 months. For tuberculosis that has spread to the brain, bones and body, medicine should be taken for 9 to 11 months.


In case of complicated tuberculosis, it may be necessary to take medicine for 9 to 18 months. Tuberculosis can be completely cured with regular medication.


There is no cost for this as the medicine is available free of cost. Tuberculosis symptoms can be cured by taking medicine after getting tested.


What to pay attention to?


All age groups are at risk of tuberculosis. However, children, the elderly and the chronically ill are more at risk of tuberculosis.


Eating a nutritionally balanced diet, not drinking and smoking, doing regular exercise will strengthen immunity and prevent the risk of tuberculosis.


Cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. Administer BCG vaccination in children at certain times. Stay away from people with tuberculosis. Do not eat the lice of the patient. In this way, the risk of tuberculosis can be avoided by taking precautions.
