What causes

What is the treatment?


Although there are different types of tuberculosis, the treatment is done with the same type of medicine. However, depending on how complicated the disease is, the time to take the medicine varies.


Normal type of tuberculosis can be cured by taking regular medicine for 6 months. For tuberculosis that has spread to the brain, bones and body, medicine should be taken for 9 to 11 months.


In case of complicated tuberculosis, it may be necessary to take medicine for 9 to 18 months. Tuberculosis can be completely cured with regular medication.


There is no cost for this as the medicine is available free of cost. Tuberculosis symptoms can be cured by taking medicine after getting tested.


What to pay attention to?


All age groups are at risk of tuberculosis. However, children, the elderly and the chronically ill are more at risk of tuberculosis.


Eating a nutritionally balanced diet, not drinking and smoking, doing regular exercise will strengthen immunity and prevent the risk of tuberculosis.
