How does noise pollution affect the heart?

Noise pollution is a problem that gradually harms health. Thousands of people lose their hearing every year due to noise pollution. The ear can only hear a certain intensity of sound. Loud noise damages the ears.

There is a link between traffic noise and heart attacks. Traffic noise increases the risk of stroke, diabetes and many heart-related diseases. Loud noise is also considered a risk factor for heart disease.

Due to excessive noise, people do not sleep at night and it also causes stress and restlessness. The number of heart patients has increased rapidly in the last few years. Especially young people are falling prey to heart attacks and noise pollution is also a major cause.

A recent study published in the journal Circulation Research found a link between traffic noise and heart attacks. A team of international researchers has analyzed a large amount of data and found that traffic noise increases the risk of stroke, diabetes and other heart-related diseases.

Research has shown that for every 10 percent increase in road traffic noise, the risk of heart disease increases by 3.2 percent. Traffic noise at night disturbs sleep. Lack of sleep in such a situation increases the level of stress hormones in the blood vessels, increases the risk of high blood pressure and diseases related to blood vessels.

"It is important to recognize traffic noise as a risk factor for heart disease," says Thomas Münzel, senior professor at the University Medical Center of Mainz in Germany and lead author of the study. In such a situation, it is very important to adopt measures to reduce traffic noise. There can be many reasons for the increase in noise pollution, which should be reduced.

Traffic is the biggest cause of noise pollution

Traffic is considered to be the biggest cause of noise pollution. People living in areas with more traffic have to face such problems. Noise pollution has become a big challenge for people living in such areas. Various researches have shown that people living in roadside houses can never sleep peacefully.

Road construction and maintenance

On the one hand, since millions of new vehicles come on the road every year, it is necessary to build the road accordingly, so it is also important to pay attention to the fact that the road must be sustainable. As a result, dilapidated and potholed roads not only cause traffic jams, but also kill many people every year. Due to the parking problem, the problem is increasing. Illegally parked vehicles can be seen on the streets of major cities in developing countries. Many have made the road a parking place.

No plan has been made for the parking space in proportion to the increase in the number of vehicles. Due to illegal parking, the road area is decreasing and there is no space to walk due to the parked vehicles. Road jams due to parking problems and honking during traffic jams increase noise pollution.

If you look at countries like Singapore, you have to pay heavy taxes when you buy a new car. A separate permit must be obtained to drive a vehicle on the road. In addition, a separate license must be obtained to enter the selected area under the regional license system. There is also a hotline number to prevent illegal parking, in which anyone can give information. Even in developing countries, if the government makes strict rules and arranges heavy fines, the problem will improve a little.

Jams also due to old and dilapidated buses

Old and dilapidated buses are often seen running on the roads of developing and developing countries. Old buses are likely to break down on the road. When a bus breaks down on the road, it causes traffic jams. In this case, every time a vehicle breaks down, there is a traffic jam for hours. When one lane is blocked, the road is jammed with queues of all types of vehicles including cars, tempos, autorickshaws, motorcycles. In a hurry, drivers try to overtake each other by cutting the road, which makes the problem worse.

Most buses in developing countries are 10 to 12 years old. They run on potholed roads, carrying more passengers than they can carry. In this case, the possibility of bus breakdown and jamming increased.

There are many times more vehicles than capacity on the road. Naturally, if a bus breaks down in the middle of the road, there is a traffic jam due to the movement of other vehicles around that place. Jam means noise pollution. After getting stuck in a traffic jam, the sound of the horn starts to hurt the ears, and the head starts to hurt.

'Pollution can have long-term effects on children'

'Pollution can have long-term effects on children' Lately, air pollution has been seen high in the major cities of the country including Kathmandu. Even Kathmandu has been included in the list of the most polluted cities in the world. Based on the method of measuring pollution, Kathmandu's air is four times more polluted than normal conditions. This is said based on the amount of 'particulate matter' mixed in the air. The condition of air pollution is determined based on the amount of dust particles i.e. PM 2.5 in the atmosphere. PM 2.5 is fine dust particles in the air with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers, it is a mixed form of solids and chemicals. Since PM 2.5 is very fine, this harmful particle can enter the body and seriously affect the lungs and it may affect health. In this way, what kind of problems can the children's health be caused by the increasing air pollution? What effect does it have on the children of faith? Focusing on these issues, respiratory,
